– Soft Contact Lenses –

Soft disposable contact lenses are the most common contact lenses fitted these days, due to their comfort and very low risk of complications. They are made from super-breathable silicon hydrogel material, to maximise ocular health during wear. The lens polymer has been altered to attract moisture to the lens, enhancing comfort through the day.

Types of Disposable Soft Contact Lenses

Disposable soft contact lenses come is all sorts of wearing schedules in order to suit every kind of contact lens wearer: daily disposable, fortnightly disposable and monthly disposable lenses are all available.

These days, daily disposable lenses are the most convenient and safest way to wear soft contact lenses. One fresh lens on eye every day minimises complications that arise with bacteria building up on old lenses or allergies from contact lens soaking solution.

If you are more budget conscious or have a challenging prescription, fortnightly or monthly disposable lenses are also wonderful options. Remember, with fortnightly or monthly disposable lenses, you do require good care and maintenance procedures to look after these lenses appropriately, all of which will be discussed between you and your optometrist.

Children can wear contact lenses too

We have a special interest in contact lenses and no one is too young or too old to experience the vision and lifestyle benefits that only contact lenses can provide.

Read our article answering many of the questions parents have about contact lenses for children.

If you are interested in trying contact lenses, have worn them in the past and would like to do so again, or would like to discuss contacts for your child – call us or make an appointment online.
