Due to the new work from home policies most companies have adapted during the Covid-19 pandemic, many of us have found ourselves on the phone or in front of the computer looking for new ways to connect with staff more than ever. We find ourselves constantly exposed to blue light.
Blue light is part of the spectrum of light we get from the sun, indoor lighting and digital devices. The major concern is the quantity, proximity to the eyes and most of all length of time that our modern lifestyles expose us to. High energy blue light has been hypothesised to damage the eye, the best prevention is to limit screen time and wear blue light filtering lenses for our glasses.
Classic symptoms of digital eyestrain are headaches, sore or tired eyes and stiff necks. Six out of 10 adults experience all or at least one of these symptoms of digital eyestrain after using the computer for two hours. During Covid-19 many of us are using the computer or phone for at least 10 hours a day. In these circumstances it is essential that you take care of your eyes. Blue light filtering lenses may be the answer for children and adults alike.
