– Contact Lens Fitting –
No eye is the same, there are so many colours, shapes and sizes. They make us unique. It is just the same with contact lenses, with a myriad of lens brands, materials, sizes and shapes. You need a contact lens option that is as unique as your own eyes, and a guide to help you through the maze of contact lens selection.
Different Types of Contact Lenses
As part of your full eye examination, we will chat to you about the freedom that contact lenses can offer for the right person.
Some people prefer to wear contact lenses full-time, while other wear their lenses on occasion, for sport or going out. Some people prefer a rewearable lens options, others prefer lenses that are disposed of after only one day of wear. Others require contact lenses made of rigid material to rehabilitate vision whilst some opt for lenses that you wear only at night time to reshape the cornea in order to see clearly the next day (Orthokeratology). There are so many options, it really depends on your lifestyle and your vision requirements.
Am I suitable for contact lenses?
As part of your full eye examination, an assessment is made of your tear film and whether you are likely to be a successful lens wearer. If not, there may be many therapies we can suggest to improve either the tear film and the ocular surface and create successful contact lens wear in the future.
Contact Lens Fitting Fees
Some contact lens fitting is bulk-billed to medicare, but in other cases professional fees apply.
